Wrong question. Follower count is the wrong input for this decision. What actually matters is whether you have something worth distributing yet.
Why follower count is a bad filter
A creator with 500 followers and 40 recorded podcast episodes has more raw material to work with than a creator with 20,000 followers and three months of sporadic posting. The second creator already knows how to grow an audience. The first one has never had the chance to try, not because they lack ability, but because they lack distribution.
Agencies, including ours, aren't magic. We can't manufacture growth out of nothing. What we can do is take content that already exists and get it in front of people who haven't seen it. That only works if the content exists.
The three real signals to check instead
- You have a content backlog. Podcasts, YouTube videos, recorded interviews, webinars, anything with usable footage. Five episodes is a reasonable starting minimum. Fifty is ideal. Zero means you're not ready yet, not because of your size, but because there's nothing to repurpose.
- You have no short-form presence, or an inconsistent one. If you're already posting daily across five platforms and growing steadily on your own, you don't need us. If you're posting when you remember to, or not posting at all, that's the actual gap worth paying to close.
- Your bottleneck is time, not ideas. If you know exactly what should be posted and just don't have the hours to cut, caption, schedule, and reply to comments every day, that's a distribution problem an agency solves. If you genuinely don't know what to talk about yet, that's a different problem, and no agency fixes it for you.
What a realistic starting point looks like
Revenue and audience size both matter less than most people assume, but as a rough range: businesses doing anywhere from $100k to $10M a year, with 0 to 100k followers and a real content library, are usually in the right window. Below that, the math on paying for distribution rarely works yet. Above that, you likely already have an internal team or a much bigger operation than this kind of service is built for.
The honest answer
You're ready when you have more good content than time to distribute it, not when you hit a specific follower number. If that's you, the content is the asset. Distribution is just the missing piece.
